Prof. Abhay Karandikar is currently serving as the Director of IIT Kanpur. Earlier, he was the Dean (Faculty Affairs) and the Institute Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. He is the founding member and chairman of the Telecom Standards Development Society of India (TSDSI), India’s standards body for telecom. He has also served as the coordinator of Tata Teleservices IIT Bombay Center of Excellence in Telecommunications (TICET) and the National Center of Excellence in Technology for Internal Security.
Prof. Subramaniam Ganesh
Prof. Ganesh received his PhD from Banaras Hindu University in 1996. After a short postdoctoral training in the Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, he joined the RIKEN Brain Science (Japan) in February 1998 as a staff scientist. He is currently the Deputy Director at IIT Kanpur, and a faculty at the BSBE department. Known for his pioneering studies on Lafora progressive myoclonic epilepsy and other neurodegenerative disorders, Prof. Ganesh is an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, India, and a proud recipient of the National Bioscience Award for Career Development for his contributions to biosciences in 2008.
Prof. A R Harish
Prof. AR Harish serves as the Dean (Research & Development) at IIT Kanpur. He completed his PhD from IIT Kanpur in 1997 and worked in the UK until 2002. He joined IIT Kanpur as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering department in 2002.
Prof. Amitabha Bandyopadhyay
Currently serving as the Professor In Charge, Innovation & Incubation, IIT Kanpur and a faculty at the BSBE department, Prof. Bandyopadhyay leads the activities of SIIC IIT Kanpur. He is also a nominated member of the National Startup Advisory Council of India. Prof. Bandyopadhyay conducted his doctoral research in the laboratory of Prof. Umadas Maitra at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Upon receiving his PhD in 2002 he joined the laboratory of Prof. Clifford Tabin at Harvard Medical School for his post-doctoral research, and later the BSBE department at IIT K, in December 2006.
Mr. Manoj Kumar
Mr. Manoj is the Co-Founder and CEO, Social Alpha. Social Alpha has been strengthening the science and technology start-up ecosystem in India with a focus on “lab to market” enablement and has nurtured more than 150 start-ups. Social Alpha architecture integrates the innovation, incubation and investment ecosystems and allows for an effective mechanism for allocating resources to mission-driven entrepreneurs throughout their lab to market progression.
Dr. Ajai Chowdhary
Dr. Ajai Chowdhry is one of the six founder members of HCL. He is currently the Chairman-Board of Governors at IIT Patna. Dr. Chowdhry has constantly been driving a vision of “IT for the masses” and has been on several Government committees working towards taking PC and broadband into every village in India. He is the Chairman of the Electronics Sector Skills Council and Chairman - FICCI Start up Committee.
Dr. Saurabh Srivastava
Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, Chairman at Indian Angel Network; Co-Founder at NASSCOM, is one of India’s leading entrepreneurs, investors and institution builders. A Padma Shri awardee, he has worked extensively in the US, UK, Singapore and India. He co-founded and Chaired key institutions of modern India focussed on IT and entrepreneurship: NASSCOM, Indian Venture Capital Association; TiE; Indian Angel Network, world’s largest angel investor group with over 100 portfolio companies, 470 investor members globally.
Mr. Srikant Sastri is the Co-founder at Crayon Data and currently the Chairman at I3G Advisory Network, and the President at TiE Delhi. A seasoned entrepreneur, Mr Sastri has built and exited two successful ventures and supports several incubators across India. After an engineering degree from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta, Mr. Sastri worked at Unilever India and McCann Erickson.
