Frequently Asked Questions
Undergraduate students (across all departments) who have completed their 4th semester
and have a minimum CPI of 7 are eligible. Teams must consist of 2–3 members.
Yes, the opportunity is open to all departments across IIT Kanpur.
Ideas should focus on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or interdisciplinary
applications (e.g., AI in healthcare, agriculture, IoT, etc.).
Applications begin during the summer through SIIC’s Summer Entrepreneurship Program.
Shortlisted teams pitch to a committee, followed by industry immersion and a final pitch. Two
teams will be awarded funding.
Each winning team receives ₹6 Lakhs for prototype development, disbursed quarterly based
on progress.
Mentorship, access to labs, legal and IP support, industry/investor connects, and post-
incorporation incubation at SIIC.
Yes. Once the prototype is developed, teams in their 7th–8th semesters can incorporate and
apply for further grants.
Possibly. Donors may offer follow-on seed funding against equity, based on an exclusive
pitch.
Quarterly evaluations will be conducted. If progress is unsatisfactory, funding may be
paused or discontinued.
