A Microwave Absorbing Metamaterial Based Wearable and a Preparation Method Thereof

Non-Confidential description of the invention

Invention is a transparent protective coatings for ITO-PET based microwave metamaterial, in this invention, the transparent polymer protective coatings for the untextured and textured conductive films are developed to address the issue of scratching of these brittle conductive films. The developed protective coating enhances the mechanical reliability of metamaterial absorber without deteriorating their optical and microwave performance. These protectively coated metamaterial absorbers can be easily used in real field application where they are dealt under severe environmental and handling conditions with no degradation in the broadband microwave performance in time. Here cost effective transparent protective coatings are developed to increase the scratch resistance of ITO hence increase the service life time of absorbers. The protected metamaterial absorber can potentially be put directly on the optical windows of objects to hide it from radar waves even in severe environmental and handling conditions.
