A Traverse System and Method Thereof

Non-Confidential description of the invention

The invention is a mechanism to provide accurate traversing in the circumferential direction within a circular area. The implementation does not involve the use of large bearings and instead uses an original arrangement of parts including smaller needle roller bearings thus leading to a significant cost reduction, while retaining accuracy. The mounting of needle roller bearings are on multiple shafts. This traverse finds applications in any industrial or research diagnostics, where detailed measurement or positioning are to be made within a circular conduit with minimal blockage caused by the measurement apparatus.
