Automated Subglottic Aspiration Device

Non-Confidential description of the invention

Invention is a medical equipment, more particularly an automated subglottic secretion drainage device and a method for performing aspiration of subglottic secretions. It is a programmable device which performs aspiration of subglottic secretions according to a set of values fed into the device. It automates the manual suction method using a syringe which makes it safe and portable. Device can cater patients with different secretion levels and who require aspiration at varied intervals. It has the ability to replace the syringe and tubing which are readily available materials in any ICU makes it easier to be used with multiple patients while not having to sterilize the product each times which is a very time saving process. It is simply plug and play device and can be just plugged with any endotracheal tube or tracheotomy tube having subglottic suction port and used instantly.
