Invention is an extraction method to obtain the adsorbed surfactant from the surface of the biodegradable nanoparticles or microparticles. A method for a non-ionic surfactant adsorbed on biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles or microparticles. Its an economical method for extraction of non-ionic surfactant. Process can be used in understanding the adsorption phenomenon of surfactant on colloidal particles and the identification and the quantification of adsorbed surfactant, it is free from degradation products and is applicable to all nano and micro sized particles of biodegradable polymers which are hydrophobic and soluble only in organic solvents.
