Process for Fabricating Poly(Vinylidenedifluoride-Trifluoroethylene)[P(VDF-TRFE)] Polymer Films

Non-Confidential description of the invention

The invention relates to a method of fabricating organic film of ferroelectric materials having improved piezoelectric and remanent polarization properties. It relates to a process of fabricating P(VDF-TrFE) films wherein by incorporating a step of UV treatment for a defined curing time results into a huge improvement in the piezoelectric coefficient (d33) and remanent polarisation (Pr) values of the P(VDF-TrFE) formed by 70 % and 38 % respectively compared to films that were not exposed to UV. This is counter-intuitive as UV exposure in polymers tends to degrade them.
