The present invention in general relates to the field of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, PMSM, and more particularly to speed and position sensorless control of a PMSM drive by joint estimation of states, resistance and load torque using an Extended Kalman Filter, EKF. The subject invention lies in providing a method for speed and position estimation of PMSM using full order EKF.
