System method and Device for Diagnosis of Cancer Based on Polarized Fluorescence
Non-Confidential description of the invention
Invention relates to instruments for performing medical examinations of the body by optical methods. It is a system, method and device for diagnosis of cancerous tissue, by capturing the difference in emission properties of the tissue through polarized fluorescence. A device to detect cervical pre-cancer using polarized fluorescence and polarized elastic scattering. Fluorescence from native biomolecules display spectral changes during progress of disease. This fluorescence from tissue is significantly modulated by absorption and scattering effects at both the excitation and emission wavelengths and hence vital information of biochemical changes with disease progression are masked.
