Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System having Vertical Takeoff, Vertical Landing, and Hovering Flight Capabilities

An unmanned aerial vehicle system capable of vertical take-off, vertical landing, and hovering flight is provided herein. The unmanned aerial vehicle system includes a first wing and a second wing attached to a beam, wherein the first wing and the second wing are located in a horizontal plane. The unmanned aerial vehicle system further includes a propeller attached to a curved portion of the beam, and located in a vertical plane with respect to the first wing and the second wing, wherein the propeller having a cant angle with respect to the vertical plane. The unmanned aerial vehicle system further includes a motor attached to the propeller and configured to rotate the propeller in the vertical plane, and thereby rotating the first wing and the second wing in the horizontal plane. The unmanned aerial vehicle system further includes an electronic controller located at an attachment point of the first wing and the second wing, and configured to control operation of the motor.
