IPR Cell at IIT Kanpur was established in 2000 to facilitate Patent filing and maintenance for the protection of Research and development work done. It acts as a connecting link to industry partners for the technology transfer and licensing activities. The cell provides handholding support in disclosing the latest technologies to industry partners with the objective of technology translation at a mass scale.
Our dedicated team facilitates evaluation of the invention disclosure form to filing, maintaining and licensing the technology to industry partners.
The IPR team works towards protecting the invention through relevant IPRs and attracting industry partners to commercialise technologies. They are actively engaged in disseminating and creating awareness of developed technologies at the institute and industry partners on various national and international innovation fairs, conferences, seminars, and social media platforms.
